GUANGZHOU Port Authority recently issued new administrative regulations for the port of Guangzhou, Xinhua reports. The regulations for the first time clearly specify the boundaries of the port''s water and land area, aiming to avoid disputes with other neighbouring ports.
According to the regulations, which took effect on July 1, the waters of the port of Guangzhou comprise the main stream of the Pearl River plus its tributaries within four specified boundaries in the East, West, North and South respectively.
The regulations specify the four boundaries in exact detail, including their geographical sites and the buildings which each boundary goes through.
The defined port area has a total quay length of 400 kilometres, crossing the administrative boundaries of Guangzhou, Dongguan, Shenzhen, Zhuhai and Zhongshan. |
